Building Strength for Life: My Journey as a Senior Exercise Physiologist
Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Senior Exercise Physiologist in my private practice, helping people move better, feel stronger, and regain confidence in their physical health. My passion lies in using evidence-based exercise to improve quality of life—whether that’s through reducing pain, restoring function after injury, or promoting independence in older adults.
A Focus on Movement and Longevity
My career has centered around helping individuals overcome physical challenges and build resilience through movement. I have a particular interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, seniors’ health and falls prevention, and pulmonary rehabilitation. These areas have shown me just how powerful exercise can be—not only for recovery but for long-term vitality.
In my work, I see the human body as adaptable and capable. Whether it’s a client returning to work after injury or an older adult improving balance and confidence, every small gain is a reminder that strength and mobility are essential to living well.
Championing Women’s Health
Women’s health has become a growing focus of my clinical and academic work. Currently, I am undertaking a research study through the Australian Catholic University (ACU) exploring how targeted strength training can improve outcomes for women’s health across the lifespan. This project is driven by a desire to ensure women have access to effective, evidence-based exercise interventions that support their unique physiological needs.
From Clinic to Classroom
In addition to clinical practice, I am proud to teach within the School of Exercise Science at the Australian Catholic University. Educating the next generation of exercise professionals has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Guiding students to understand not only the science of movement but also the art of patient care helps strengthen the future of our profession.
A Holistic Approach to Health
Across all areas of my work—workers’ compensation, rehabilitation, preventive health, and research—I believe in taking a holistic and empathetic approach. Every client’s story is different, and successful outcomes come from understanding the individual behind the condition.
My mission as an Exercise Physiologist is simple: to empower people to take control of their health, move with confidence, and live stronger for longer.
